OK, hopefully this won't happen again and I'll keep this thing somewhat more updated. A lot has happened since I last blogged. I've been in California, and that's been pretty cool. I've gotten to go see Jimmy Kimmel record a taping. Some of the people I came with got tickets to try and get on the Price is Right, and I'm really hoping that happens. My girlfriend came out one weekend and we went to go see some beaches and other sights. Overall the experience has been fun and a lot of work, but I'm glad I went.
On to poker. I have actually played quite a bit since I last wrote. One of the weekends I came back to IN, I decided to deposit some money on Full Tilt and take a shot at getting in to their bracelet race tournaments that gives you $2000 to play in a WSOP prelim event. I don't consider this money part of the challenge. One of the nice things about being a Software Engineer in Fort Wayne, IN is that you have some extra money to spend on crazy shit. I wanted win a bracelet race package since I'm so close to Vegas, I figured I could drive over for one of the $1500 events if I was to win package.
So, I deposited about $250 to play in a couple satellites to the $200 + $16 bracelet race, a $69 + $6 version of the bracelet race and for some reason I decided to play in a $69 + $6 buy in $35,000 guaranteed prize pool freezeout. It was a pretty good night. I won a seat to the $200 + $16 bracelet race (which I didn't end up winning), and I final tabled the $35K freezeout for a 6th place finish of $2200+. I was pretty damn pumped to say the least.
I've since taken that money and played in quite a few more tournaments on Full Tilt. I didn't run too good right after the $2K win, but I managed to hit my biggest score ever just last week. I took 1st place in a $24 + $2 buy in $17K guarantee freezeout for about $4150! I've really only been playing MTTs recently and have kind of put the sit n go portion of my little project on the back burner. I still plan on getting my account up to $10K on PokerStars and sticking with my rules, it'll just have to be done with $11 MTTs for now.
I'm at about $930 on Stars right now, and I'm just waiting to hit a nice little final table score real soon. I came in 15th in a 6 max tournament recently with about 650 entries. That could have been a nice score had I final tabled that. Near misses are the worst. For 15th I think I won about $60 where 1st was over a thousand.
Anyways, off to bed now for me. Hopefully I'll keep this thing updated a little bit more often for my faithful audience of no one.
